Kid’s Room Makeover
It all begins with an idea.
I just can’t believe the time has come to update Lexi’s nursery to a big girl room. I started this account when she was born and now she is off to school. We have made some minor changes throughout the years (got rid of her cot bed, changing station etc). However, we both feel it’s time for her room to have a small makeover.
Here are my 5 tips on how to have a smooth makeover and avoid the disappointment (on both ends)
No1: Make sure you discuss the changes with them. Lexi loves being involved in most decisions so of course I discussed all the ideas with her. Showed her some pictures from Pinterest and asked which one she preferred. For example she is happy to paint one side of her room but wants to keep the other side as it is.
No2: Don’t rush, everything takes time so start small by changing the baby decor to a more grown up one.
No3: Figure out the layout, maybe they are ready for a bigger bed, study corner or simply more storage.
No4: Consider lighting. Do they have a night light with an alarm? It might be a great idea to source a sunrise alarm that will imitate a sunrise in the morning so they can gently wake up.
No5: Storage, storage, storage. It’s not just the new uniform but the new books, educational materials and toys. They will need a designated area with easy reach. Bonus tip: this is the perfect time to clear out the old clothes, toys, books and donate them to the right places. Clear out or give away everything that they have grown out of.
Brighten up a room with Wallpaper
It all begins with an idea.
Slightly obsessed with the cheerful look of these beautiful wallcoverings. Wallpaper can be a great way to make a tiny, odd-shaped, or unconventional room into a stunning space. Small closets, a powder room, or a nook can be transformed into something spectacular with wallpaper. It makes a significant impact in unusual spaces. Adding wallpaper to create a more attractive area in your home is an inexpensive way to add some unique decor.
